Short answer: the most common business card size in Sri Lanka is 90 × 54 mm. It fits standard card holders and wallets. If you want to stand out, a square, rounded or folded card is possible, but check it still fits where your customers keep cards.

Bleed and safe zone
Print shops cut many cards from one large sheet, so the cut can move by a fraction of a millimetre. Two simple rules protect your design:
- Bleed: extend your background colour or image 3 mm past the edge of the card.
- Safe zone: keep names, phone numbers and logos at least 4 mm inside the cut line.
For a 90 × 54 mm card, your file should be 96 × 60 mm including bleed.
Paper weight and finish
- 300 to 350 gsm gives a firm, premium feel.
- Matt looks calm and modern, and is easy to read.
- Gloss makes colours pop but shows fingerprints.
- Soft-touch laminate feels velvety and suits high-end brands.
What to put on the card
- Your name and role
- Business name and logo
- One phone number (and WhatsApp if you use it)
- Email and website
- A QR code to your website, map or WhatsApp
- Leave empty space: crowded cards are hard to read
